Working for a year-long period with merely a high schooldiploma doesn’toffer the best potential opportunities for students. Although they are able togain some on-the-job experience, their salaries will be much lower than if theycontinuously remain in school and seek work after obtaining an undergraduate orgraduate degree. In terms of their ages, these students will be one year olderthan most of their counterparts, making it more difficult to compete with theirfellow classmates after graduating.
